Life is a series of mistakes

Life is a series of mistakes and you learn from them and move on. At any given moment you have the choice to stay right where you are or breathe and move forward.

A lot of strength comes from sitting with yourself, accepting yourself wholly, and forgiving yourself for when you knew no better.

This sunset is proof of how life can be beautiful while being challenging. During the time I clicked this picture, I was sitting with a friend of mine who is a great person by heart. We sat and chatted for a long time about a lot of things. It was so peaceful, there was mild air around us. Everything seemed okay, although there was still a hurricane in my mind but for some time I was okay.

It made me realize how important it is to hold space for the things you find ugly in yourself. For as long as you keep running from those parts of yourself, you won’t be able to heal them. And they will keep coming back, haunting you with new circumstances.

There’s a large part of me that is afraid of, “What would my loved ones think of me?” but most of all I think is, “What do I think of myself?” and then I am disgusted with myself. And I don’t think that is helping me at all. What good would it do?

If I forgive myself, would my loved ones forgive me?

They might or might not, but you can’t do anything in that case. But a place where you can do something is, with yourself. How much space do you hold for yourself? How much forgiveness do you have within you? How much strength do you have to bring the change you desperately desire?

It’s all within you.
